We’re officially in that funny little in-between season where I’m still sitting outside with an iced drink, but mentally I’ve already moved on to cozy rugs, warmer bedding and rearranging the living room for fall.
And thankfully, the Labor Day home sales have started.
If you’ve been waiting to replace patio furniture, finally buy the area rug you’ve had saved for six months or give your home a small fall refresh without completely redecorating, this is one of the better shopping weekends to do it.

If I were opening one home sale first, it would be Wayfair.
Wayfair's Labor Day Clearance is already live with area rugs up to 70% off, living-room seating up to 60% off and up to 50% off categories including outdoor furniture, lighting, bedding, bedroom furniture and kitchen and dining furniture.
This is where I’d look for the bigger pieces that can completely change a room.

My Wayfair Shopping Strategy
Start with the rugs.
A rug is one of the easiest ways to take a room from summer into fall without buying an entirely new living room.
Then check seating, lighting and storage.
And if you’ve been wanting new patio furniture? Shop it before putting the patio away for the year. End-of-season pricing can make it worth buying now and enjoying it again next spring.
Macy’s Early Labor Day Home Sale
Macy’s is another one worth checking before Labor Day weekend even arrives.
The retailer is currently advertising its lowest prices of the season with 20–65% off furniture, mattresses and rugs, with the early Labor Day pre-sale running through August 25.

You already know I’m going to check Target.
Because sometimes the fall reset doesn't require a new sofa.
Sometimes it requires a $25 pillow, a new lamp and moving the furniture around until everyone in your house asks what you're doing.
